Making pasta look pretty doesn’t always have to be complex or even super fancy! Below are some creative ideas you can use to make your pasta presentation more interesting. 1. Sometimes simplicity is best You can achieve the minimal presentation of a restaurant pasta entree with a few pieces of ravioli, your favourite pasta sauce, a nice plate and some garnish! Whilst the ingredients themselves don’t have to be complex or too fancy at all, the presentation of your dish will make your night a little more special – and will impress your guests. 2. Spoon it up Try presenting your pasta in a ceramic soup spoon instead of a bowl or a plate. It’s great way to make your appetisers appear dainty, with the added bonus of guests being able to eat straight out of the spoon. 3. A good glass of pasta “Heston-ify” your dinner night and serve your guests pasta in a wine glass! This might perplex them, but it definitely makes a meal more interesting. Any type of small or thin pasta, such as our Egg Fettuccine, will work inside a wine glass. 4. Edible bowls Serve your pasta in a bowl of bread, or in a hollowed-out vegetable such as capsicum. Not only will you have an extra edible bowl from which to eat your pasta, but it’ll also look as though you’ve gone the extra mile with your food presentation. 5. Adults play with their food, too! Have you ever wanted to make a smiley-faced lunch for yourself, but feel it’s too childish? You don’t have to be a kid to enjoy funky faces or crazy creatures made from food! We particularly love the idea of creating a bird’s nest with fettuccine. No idea is too crazy when you’ve got pasta and meatballs — get creative! 6. The finishing touch... You know that one small accessory that can ramp up a dull outfit? That’s basically how we see garnishes! Herbs, julienned vegetables or even creamy-textured sauces squeezed through a piping bag add a nice finishing touch to a dish.
