If you loaf bread, keep reading!
For many of us bread is life, bread is everything. We have it with breakfast, lunch and dinner. In fact we even snack on it. However, how many of us are guilty of only sticking to one or two different bread types? There are so many different bread types out there just waiting for us to try. It would take us months to list all the different types of bread so here are the ones we deem most important!

Ciabatta
This Italian bread was a response to the French baguette and is just as tasty! It’s great warmed slightly and served with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. We also love tearing bits off and dipping it with our PECKS Anchovette.
Baguette (French stick)
The French know how to do it; and it always tastes best fresh from a bakery. Its crisp crust makes it perfect for making canapés and tapas. Simply use your favourite PECKS spread and top with antipastos – too easy.
Flat Bread
Flat bread is simply made from flour, water and salt then rolled into a flat dough. Many countries have their own versions and usually eat it with their main meals. Western society sometimes refer to it as pita and make sandwiches from it. If you decide to eat it this way you must, must stuff your pitta with a tablespoon of PECKS Devilled Ham, fresh spinach leaves, crumbled feta and chicken slices!
Pumpernickel
This heavy slightly sweet rye bread is a German favourite. Typically seen as an artisan bread you can find pumpernickel in many delis, and specialist stores. However more and more supermarkets are stocking this delicious bread. So next time you see it, try it with cream cheese, sliced onion, and tomato.
Bagel
Traditionally originating from Poland the bagel is roughly hand sized with a hole in the middle. Now you can get them with all different types of seeds, fruit and nuts sprinkled on top or filtered throughout. The epitome of bagels is one with a generous layer of cream cheese! Perfect for breakfast, will you try one?
Focaccia
Move over sandwiches, focaccias are here! This flat oven-baked bread is somewhat similar to pizza dough in texture and can be topped with the same ingredients. However it can also be used like a sandwich, chopped on in pieces for dip or simply devoured with a meal! If you haven’t tried an olive focaccia yet, make that your next priority!
The most important thing you can know about these breads is that they all without a doubt are great for dips, PECKS spreads and can be eaten with pretty much any meal. In many cultures a meal isn’t complete without bread but often with ours, bread is the basis of a meal! Have you got any great recipes that use any of these breads? If you do please share them below we’d love to hear them.
