Sometimes it’s in kids’ nature to be picky and unfortunately it can be a real chore to get them eating good food. However we’ve got some tips and tricks to get them eating their fruit, veg, nuts and grains!
Positive reinforcement is a great way to encourage your kids into eating those last few veggies. Create a weekly chart and give them a star whenever they finish their veggies or when they help out in the kitchen. Reward them with something you have both agreed on - we recommend experiences, like a trip to the park, zoo or beach or some pocket money to put towards something they really want.

To help kids realise good food is tasty food, simply blend some veggies into soups, sauces and spreads – they’ll be coming back for more! Our Peanut Butter And Banana Topped Crunchy Bars Recipe is also great because by just adding a small amount of peanut butter, you’ve got kids eating fruit, whole grains and good monounsaturated fat all in one meal!

There are so many foods out there that kids think are naughty but in fact are beneficial. Substitute raisins with lollies and home made icy poles and dairy pops will always be a winner over the store bought versions. Our Nature Valley Bars will go down a treat. Try the classic favourites like Oats Honey, Maple Crunch and Dark Chocolate.
Kids, especially in the early years of development, can be picky but don’t ever give up because their diet is incredibly important. Plus, if they start eating wholesome treats early, you won’t have food battles later on.
