Calling all summer babies (and those who just like to party!) – We have some awesome Mexican party ideas for you.
Celebrate as the Mexicans do and bring the party outdoors. Summer is the perfect time for a party; the sun’s out for longer so you can make the most of the amazing weather from the afternoon and well into the evening. The use of large tables is necessary so food can be laid out and easily shared. Set the le mesa with colourful table settings and decorate with bright flower arrangements or cacti. Mexico is vibrant so hang bright streamers overhead from trees or around pillars.
Once you’ve organised the decorations, it’s time to create a Mexican play list. You can find contemporary and traditional Mexican artists on iTunes or if you want to go all out hire a mariachi band!
Now we’re onto the really exciting stuff – food and drink. It’s important to have a mixture of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages so everyone can enjoy the night responsibly. Try virgin and non-virgin margaritas, Mexican beers like Sol and Corona and a spicy punch (add a few hits of cayenne pepper to your usual punch recipe. People will love it!).
Food wise, our absolute favourite party food is nachos, particularly our Nachos with Chorizo Caramelised Pineapple Salsa and Red Jalapeno Guacamole! This meal is great for sharing and the sweet and tangy fruity kick is sure to impress your guests.
Because it’s summer, make the most of the seafood season and serve our famous Prawn, Tomatillo and Jalapeño Enchiladas. This cheesy baked Mexican meal has a truly unique spin on seafood.
