Make your Mother's Day with the ultimate breakfast surprise

Mothers’ Day is our chance to say thank you for all that our special lady does for us. It’s our job to make her day great and to start it off with a bang, breakfast in bed is a must! 

Research tells us there are four good reasons to start the day with a good breakfast:

  • Brekkie gives us a head start to replenish our carbohydrate levels. Our brains need energy in the form of glucose for optimum function during the day.
  • Those who fill up on healthy food at breakfast are less likely to snack later and fill up on unhealthy options.
  • Studies show that people who eat breakfast regularly tend to have better diets and weight control than those who don’t.
  • If you have breakfast and include a serving of fruit or veg, you have a better chance of reaching your recommended serves of fruit and veg per day.

So, cooking your Mum breakfast is the perfect way to show her you care and are looking out for her.

Now, you want to make Mum breakfast, but you don’t know what to make or how to make it? Here are a couple of more decadent options especially for Mother’s Day so you don’t end up serving burned toast!

  1. Nature Valley's crunchy berry pancakes topped with yoghurt or ricotta and extra delicious berries, served with freshly brewed coffee or tea.
  2. Fresh fruit platter (e.g. apples, bananas, grapes and kiwi) to start, with on toast.
